Summary
Psychoanalyst George Christie was an early champion of the benefits of group therapy and played a major part in the adoption of such techniques as standard in Australia. He had particular success with the group psychotherapeutic treatment of infertile couples. He was a senior lecturer at Monash University Medical School and held positions at Prince Henry's Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital.
