Summary
Research engineer Peter Jackson was an expert in the sustainable exploitation of brown coal and natural gas and power generation. He held management positions at BHP Billiton, the CSIRO and the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Clean Power from Lignite. He was CEO of the CRC from 2004 to 2006 and a member of the Victorian Government's brown coal research and development advisory group. He had a key role in the commercialisation of laser plasma spectrometer technology. Jackson passed away due to terminal illness in 2007.
