Gordon Francis Meijs is a chemist who's area of expertise in specialty polymers. In 2000, Meijs was made Chief Research Scientist at the CSIRO. His achievements include instrumental involvement in the development of extended-wear contact lenses and Elast-Eon™ biocompatible polyurethane, both materials that changed the landscape of the biomaterials industry.
