Summary
In 1970, physicist David Ernest Henshaw was the primary inventor of the 'self-twist yarn' process. This technological advance increased woollen yarn-spinning production speed from a possible 20 metres per minute to 200. He was a research scientist at the CSIRO Division of Textile Technology at the time.
