Produced a number of articles on birds during 1944 for the Garra Gazette, the official bi-monthly bulletin of the 3rd Australian Advance Ordinance Depot, Wallangarra, Queensland. Co-founder, Gould League Bird Watchers' Club and Secretary 1966-69, editor, Birds 1967-71. Sometime president, Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales. Only Australian member, British Jourdain Society. Wrote A Cabinet of Reed Warblers (1991).
