Summary
Norman McClelland spent most of his working life at the Electrolytic Zinc Company, Risdon Works, Hobart. He developed a process using nitroso-naphthol to control cobalt in the Zinc Plant circuit. He also built up the Instrument Section from a staff of 2 to 16 and pioneered the use of process control instruments.

Born New Zealand, 1899. Died Nambour, 27 November 1980. Educated Victoria College, Wellington and University of New Zealand (MSc). Cawthorn Institute, E.Z. Co. for 39 years (started as an organic chemist and ended as Chief Instrument Officer).
