Summary
L. J. Griffiths joined BHP as a junior chemist at Broken Hill in 1898 and left as Works Manager in Newcastle in 1936. He then took over the managing directorship of National Oil Proprietary Ltd at the request of the then Prime Minister, John Curtin, a position he held until his death.
