Summary
Lionel Adams graduated with a BAppSc from Queensland University and was hired by the Ministry of Munitions. Initially he worked in the design office in Melbourne, then in chemical engineering control in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales (Villawood). He was next employed by Ajax Chemical Company as there chief chemist, then become the companies manager. In 1950 Adams joined the Sydney Metropolitan Water Sewerage and Drainage Board as chief chemist and moved through the ranks to become Principal Chemist in charge of the Chemical and Bacteriological Section. He remained in this post until his sudden death in 1968.
