MM Cables Telecommunications was formed on 21 October 1988 when Metal Manufacturers took over Austral Standard Cables. The company was still in operation during the 1990s. MM Cables New Zealand Pty Limited was registered with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission on 27 March 2000.
