Summary
The Melbourne University Engineering Students' Club was founded in 1889 as the Engineering Students' Society. Its first meeting was held on 22 Aug 1889, with a paper presented by Wilfred Noyce Kernot, and the meeting chaired by Prof William Charles Kernot. It was closely related with the Melbourne University Engineering Society, and traditionally provided it with an Assistant Honorary Secretary. It produced a student club newsletter "Quo Vadis". From 1938 to 1978 it published an annual journal, "Cranks and Nuts".
