Summary
The Astronomical Association of Queensland was formed in 1978, as a result of a merger between the Astronomical Society of Queensland and the Astronomers Association of Queensland. From their Web site, December 2002: "The Astronomical Association of Queensland (AAQ) is the premier astronomical body in Queensland tracing its history back to 1896. Its principal object is to foster the science of astronomy which encompasses research, public education and just having good fun."
