Summary
The Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales was formed in 1891, when the Agricultural Society of New South Wales gained permission to use the prefix 'Royal'. The Society continued to promote agricultural excellence and to organise Sydney's annual Royal Easter Show. In 2002 the Society has a membership of around 14,000.
