Summary
The Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists was established in 1978, the prefix 'Royal' was added in 1980, creating the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. An amalgamation with the Royal New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists took place in 1998, resulting in the formation of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
