Summary
The Australian Institute of Anatomy was established in October 1931, following the relocation of the National Museum of Australian Zoology from Melbourne to Canberra, and its name being changed by an Act of Parliament. Amongst its functions were being a natural history museum and research in human nutrition. The Institute was abolished in December 1985. Its building went on to house the Australian Film and Sound Archive.
