Summary
The National Florence Nightingale Committee of Australia supported the development of post basic nursing education in Australia. The national committee, with the support of its State Branches and other nursing organisations, was primarily responsible for the introduction of post registration nursing education in Australia. By 1993 the original objectives of the committee were realised and it structure was replaced with a Memorial fund to provide scholarships for doctoral, post doctoral and research studies.
