Summary
In 1962 a group of scientists, who shared an interest in the area of immunology, met in Adelaide for a scientific meeting. This meeting became an annual event, alternating between Australian cities for venues. In 1970 this group was formalised to become the Australian Society of Immunologists. In 1972, the Society's name was altered to become the Australian Society of Immunology.
