Summary

The Australian Atomic Energy Commission, Research Establishment, was established in 1958. The Commission undertook research into atomic energy for over twenty years. In 1981 part of the Commission was incorporated into the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), what was left formed the Australian Atomic Energy Commission Research Laboratories.
