Abstract

The Council of The Institution has awarded the R. W. Chapman Medal for 1948 to Mr. M. G. Speedie, MCE MIEAust, for his paper entitled "Investigations and designs for Eildon Dam enlargement", which was presented before the Melbourne Division of The Institution during 1948, and was published in the July-August issue of The Journal in that year.

Mr. Speedie was awarded the Warren Memorial Prize for 1949, and a brief account of his professional career appears on page 61 of the March, 1951, issue of The Journal.
