Abstract

To perpetuate the memory of her late husband, Edward Noyes, a foundation member of the Institution, Mrs. Noyes is giving to the Institution an annual prize of Ten Guineas, available to Juniors and Students of the Institution.

The first award of the Edward Noyes Prize was made jointly to: Alan Richardson Browne, for his paper "Natural draught chimneys for power boilers", and to William James Rodan, for his paper "The Glenmaggie Weir". Abstracts of these two papers were published in this volume on pages 138 and 164 respectively.
