Abstract

This paper describes two machines designed by the author and made in the Charles Kolling Mechanical Engineering Research Laboratory, University of Sydney, New South Wales, for experiments in pure torque on photo-elastic models. Special provision
has been made for recording variations in load and their effects by cinematography. The machines have been used in researches on keys described in another paper which commenced in the November, 1938, issue of The Journal.
