- Abstract
This paper describes the reasons for using medium tensile steel in the welded pressure pipelines for Murray 1 Power Station, and the design considerations involved. Introduction of an Australian medium tensile steel and the methods used to ensure that the pipelines fabricated from it would have adequate physical properties, including notch toughness and freedom from defects, are discussed, as well as the overall results achieved.
