This paper, No.808, originated in the Adelaide Division of The Institution and was presented before a General Meeting of the Division on 19th March. 1943. The paper is published in two sections, this is the second section.

Abstract

In this paper the author briefly discusses the wastes to be treated, the various trapping devices adopted at the camps, and gives sullage and sewage flow measurements for various camps, also the chemical analyses of these. The paper describes several representative sullage and several sewage treatment plants built, and gives a few of the basic figures used in their design, together with the chemical and bacteriological
analyses of the effiuents from such plants. A brief discussion on elements of sewage treatment as applying to the Army and Air Force treatment plans discussed, completes the paper. It has been published in two sections; this is the second instalment.
