Abstract

ln this paper the author briefly describes the conditions which led up to the establishment of sewage treatment works at Glenelg, South Australia, and gives the basic figures adopted for the design of the plant. This is followed by a brief explanation of the system of treatment adopted and the various analyses of the sewage to be treated. He then describes each unit of the plant, giving the operating and chemical results for a period of 14 months, and a critical survey of the operation of each unit, with comments on features of special interest.
