Abstract

The Wyangala dam is being constructed on the Lachlan river, N.S.W., to provide irrigation storage. The site is about 30 miles above Cowra, and the dam will be 190 ft. high and will impound 303,900 acre-ft. Construction is now in progress, and the general design and methods used are set forth in this article. Provision is being made for utilising the head of water provided by the dam for generating electric power.
