Prizes.-The following prizes have been awarded during the session-

Peter Nicol Russell Memorial Medal (1938 award) - to Mr. H. R. Harper, MIEAust, Melbourne Division.

R. W. Chapman Medal (1935 award) - to Mr. N. Fernie, BSc ME AMIEAust, and Mr. R. J. Keating, BE AMIEAust, Perth Division, for their paper entitled "Continuous welding of exposed mains, as applied to the Goldfields Water Supply", which was published in Volume 7 of The Jourmal.

R. W. Chapman Medal (1936 award) - to Mr. R. J. Dumas, ME MIEAust, and Mr. V. C. Munt, BA BE AMIEAust, Perth Division, for their paper entitled "The construction of the Canning Dam, Western Australia", which was published in Volume 8 of The Journal.

Edward Noyes Prize (1936 award) - to Mr. R. E. Corbett, JrIEAust, Sydney Division, for his paper entitled "The theory and application of industrial gas heating", which was published in the June, 1936, issue of The Bulletin of Sydney Division.

The Institution of Engineers' Prize (1939 award), to Mr. V. D. Burgmann, BE StudIEAust, Sydney Division, for his thesis on "The steady, oscillatory state of the triode oscillator; to Mr. L. U. Hibbard, BSc BE, for his thesis on "Corrections and adjustments to the Graphintegrator"; and to Mr. J. I. Miller, BE for his thesis on "A contribution to the analysis of the Vierendeel
Frame or Truss".
