Summary

Electrical Engineering Transactions under various titles, was published by the Institution of Engineers Australia from 1959 - 1981. It contains technical and scientific research papers on electrical and electronic engineering topics relevant to Australia. It was usually published once or twice a year. Prior to 1959, electrical engineering papers were included in the 'Journal of the Institution of Engineers, Australia' [ISSN 0020-3319] so these Transactions partially supersede that Journal. In 1981, it was superseded by the Journal of electrical and electronics engineering, Australia [ISSN: 0725-2986].

Details

From 1959-1964, electrical engineering technical papers were published with mechanical engineering papers as Electrical and mechanical engineering transactions [ISSN: 0424-7744] with volume numbers: "EM.1-EM.6". From 1965, electrical and mechanical engineering transactions were separately published. Electrical engineering transactions papers were published as Electrical engineering transactions [ISSN: 0020-3300] (1965-1979) and later as Transactions of the Institution of Engineers, Australia: Electrical engineering. [ISSN: 0159-2076] (1979-1980) maintaining a single sequence of volume numbers: "EE.1-EE.16".
From 1981, the Transactions and the Proceedings of the Institution of Radio and Electronics Engineers Australia [ISSN: 0158-0736] (1979-1980) were merged and superseded by the Journal of electrical and electronics engineering, Australia [ISSN: 0725-2986] (1981-2003).

An index to the articles in these Transactions is included in the Institution's publication "Author and Subject Index of publications 1920-1968"; in their annual publication "Index" 1975-1981; in the CSIRO "Australian Science Index 1957-1983"; and electronically in the Institution's "Australian Engineering Database (ENGINE)" 1980-2018.

Partial collections of digitised copies of these Transactions are also available - see 'Published resources' for details.
