Summary

Ross McPhedran is a physicist whose research is in the field of wave length, particularly the interaction of electromagnetic and elastic waves with structured materials. Internationally recognised for his work in plasmonic nanostructures and metamaterials, he pioneered the development of multipole methods in the calculation of the properties of composite materials, and the study of photonic crystals and crystal fibres. McPhedran holds a personal Chair in Electromagnetic Physics at the University of Sydney and is Chief Investigator in the Centre for Ultrahigh bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems (CUDOS).
