Summary

Marilyn Hewish has been an active member of the Geelong Field Naturalists Club for over 30 years during which she played a major role in organising numerous surveys and bird counts. From 1991 to 2008 she edited the Club's annual Geelong Bird Report. She has been author and editor in the publication of a number of reports based on field surveys and historical records, including for the Royal Australian Ornithologists Union (later Birds Australia) the Victorian Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Parks Victoria. In recent years she has been involved with the curation of the moth collections at Museum Victoria, and has led Lepidoptera teams in surveys run by the Museum. In 2013 she was awarded the Australian Natural History Medallion by the Field Naturalists Club of Victoria.
