Summary
Dr Natashia Boland received her PhD from the University of Western Australia in 1992 for her work relating to operations research using continuous optimisation techniques. Boland was a postdoctoral research fellow, first at the University of Waterloo, Canada, in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimisation and then at the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. At the University of Melbourne she has taught as a senior lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. She has also been involved in various research projects that included theoretical and applied operations research as well as process optimisation such as that in aircraft paths and cancer treatment plans. She has frequently provided consulting services to industry.
