Summary

Sir Harold Raggatt joined the Geological Survey of New South Wales in 1922 and in 1940 was appointed Commonwealth Geologist. From 1942-1951 he was foundation Director of the Bureau of Mineral Resources and until 1965 Secretary to the Department of National Development. For these services, he was awarded a CBE in 1954 and was Knighted in 1963.
