Summary
The Records of the Australian Museum (ISSN 0067-1975) has been published by the Museum since 1890. It was inaugurated by the then Curator, Edward Ramsay, who was editor for the first two volumes. The Records is a peer-reviewed journal which publishes results of studies based on the Museum's collections. While the primary focus is on animal taxonomy and systematics, cultural, archaeological, mineralogical and palaeontological studies are included. Frequency is variable, while the number of issues in a volume also varies. Since 1999 publication had been in print and online. In 2009 all back issues were digitised. From 1983 Supplements (ISSN 0812-7387) have been issued.
