Summary
The Australasian Grain Science Association traces its origins to 1951 when cereal chemists met under the umbrella of the (Royal) Australian Chemical Institute (R.A.C.I.). Formally constituted in 2009, the Association's aims include: to provide a forum for researchers, nutritionists and others interested in grain science; to advance knowledge and understanding of grain science and the grain industry; and to facilitate exchange of information through conferences and other activities. Members come from the agrifood section, research, and the grain food and allied industries. In 2014 the Association assumed stewardship of the awards formerly presented by the R.A.C.I. Cereal Chemistry Division. These included the F. B. Guthrie Medal and the (Australasian Grain Science Association) Service Award.
