Summary
The Dirac Medal for the Advancement of Theoretical Physics has been awarded, usually annually, jointly by the University of New South Wales and the Australian Institute of Physics since 1979. It is one of four Medals (and the only Australian) named in honour of Paul Dirac, an eminent theoretical physicist. The recipient of the Medal is invited to present a lecture at the University. Dirac delivered a series of lectures at the University in 1975, donating royalties from the publication of those lectures to establish the Medal and its accompanying Lecture.
