Summary

The Batterham Medal for Engineering Excellence was established by the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Technology in 2014, with the first award being made in 2015. It is awarded to an early career engineer whose research has demonstrated excellence and innovation, and who has achieved substantial peer and industry recognition in the five years prior to their nomination. The Medal is awarded annually and is sponsored by the Group of Eight Deans of Engineering and Associates. Robin Batterham was President of the Academy from 2007 to 2012, and Australia's Chief Scientist 1999 to 2005.
