Summary
The M. R. Banks Medal was established in 1997 by the Royal Society of Tasmania, with the first Medal being presented in 1998. It is awarded on an occasional basis to a mid-career researcher in any field within the Society's purview, with an age limit of 45 years. The Medal commemorates Maxwell Banks who edited the Society's journal from 1973 to 2000 and became a Life Member of the Society in 2006.
