Summary

The Australian Institute of Automotive Engineers was formed on lines to similar bodies in Great Britain and the U.S.A. and in 1927, it was proposed that it would affiliate with these institutes.

Details

Australian Institute of Automotive Engineers activities were reported in the journals of the Victorian Institute of Welding Engineers, and later in the Australian Welding Institute. Then The Modern Engineer from December 1932, Vol.6, No.12, when it became the official organ of: Association of Charge Engineers (Aust.); Australian Institute of Automotive Engineers; Australian Welding Institute; and Melbourne University Metallurgical Society.

The Modern Engineer ceased publication in November 1951.
