Summary

The Royal Botanic Gardens Board came into being in 1992 under the Royal Botanic Gardens Act 1991. Its function is to administer the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne (later Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria), and its constituent parts the National Herbarium of Victoria, the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne and the Australian Research Centre for Urban Ecology (ARCUE), as a statutory authority.
