- Abstract
Quote: "With his son Coles and the Kembles he had formed the Australian Sugar Co. They bought sixty acres (24 ha) at Canterbury, but after disagreements between the founders the company was reconstituted in 1842 as the Australasian Sugar Co. As difficulties remained, the Childs sold their interests to Edward Knox in 1843 and left Sydney. W. K. Child bought the Mount Vincent estate near Kurri Kurri, and worked it with the help of his sons."
