Abstract

With its current and planned international involvement in exploration, mineral and oil resources and processing as well as its engineering and research and development capabilities BHP is a unique organisation. The advantages of such a worldwide integrated group provide the background for the company to pursue and develop opportunities in several sectors. BHP's primary objective is profitable growth through both geographical and product area diversification. The recent acquisition of Utah International Inc together with current and planned future developments for the various Divisions are aimed at ensuring that the Company does not become stagnant in any of these areas. This presentation outlines details of some of these developments.
