- Abstract
A brief review of the development of stump-jump mechanisms, with reasons for the major contributions made by Australian designers is given. Theoretical analyses leading to computer simulation and a specific application to a commercial chisel plow mechanism is presented. Theoretical predictions are compared with results from a laboratory analyser. The computer and laboratory testing facility provide invaluable tools for evaluating and developing stump-jump linkages and have been successfully exploited by industry.
