This paper, No.1676, originated in the Melbourne Division of The Institution and was submitted by the author on 5th April 1962.
The author, Edward B. Brown, DSc DEng(Hon) AGCI AMIEAust, who retired from the position of Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the end of 1946, is consultant to the Department of Electrical Engineering in the University of Melbourne.

Abstract

The apparatus developed by the author is a composite one to indicate certain A.C. quantities (in a 50 c/s power network) without calculation. Since the quantities measured are voltages, currents and their relative phase angles the apparatus may be termed a VOLT-AMP-PHASE meter. This is abbreviated to VAPHMETER.
