This paper describes construction works carried out by the Government of New South Wales through its agents, The Maritime Services Board of New South Wales. These works formed part of the programme of construction for the building of the new graving dock, later named "The Captain Cook Dock", the design and general method of construction of which were prepared by Sir Alexander Gibb and Partners who acted as Consulting Engineers to the Commonwealth Government for this work.
