Abstract

From a consideration of the fundamentals of heat transfer in a sinter bed.it is recommended that an approximate equation is suitable for either computational or algebraic analysis of the temperature profile and permits the determination of appropriate reaction and transfer constants from sintering pot experiments.
For the ideal case of a stable front, solutions are obtained for speed of advance of the flame front and for maximum temperature in terms of dimensionless fuel and drying requirements and a dimensionless reactivity rk pc/C2. Plots are presented of significant relationships between these operating variables.
