- Abstract
A new process to extract arsenic from copper tankhouse electrolyte using tributyl phosphate solvent is described. Arsenic is stripped from the organic solvent to form a low-acid arsenic solution from which arsenic is recovered as a copper arsenate. The process has hygiene and production cost advantages over existing electro-deposition technology for the recovery of arsenic. The process, developed within the MIM Holdings Group, is being installed on a commercial scale at Copper Refineries Pty. Ltd., Townsville.
