- Abstract
Concrete production throughout the urban areas of Australia is now passing through a vital stage of transition - from site-mixing to premixing. This stage, until some few years ago, was a steady development which could be absorbed by the building and construction industries. Today, it is rapid to the point of being alarming. This is because the transition coincides with the introduction of the new C.A.2 Code for Concrete, which presents a strength basis for specification. The solution lies in appreciation of the position by engineers, with appropriate progressive modifications in design, specifications, testing, and construction.
