Abstract

This paper reviews the general field of application of computers to bridge design, together with the programming approach and concepts adopted by the Country Roads Board of Victoria. Computer programs developed by the Board are described and the economics of their usage are stated. A list of programs prepared by others is given and likely future trends are discussed.
