Abstract

This paper has been divided into two parts, the first being a brief description of the Eighth International Roads Congress held at The Hague, at which the author was present as the representative of The Institution, and the second giving an account of investigations of road works made in the course of a tour of Europe and America, undertaken in a private capacity. The latter part of the paper is a reproduction, with minor modifications, of a report submitted to the Department of Main Raods, New South Wales.
