This paper, No650, which originated in the Adelaide Division of The Institution, was presented as an Address before the Division on 28/10/1938. The author, Lieut-Colonel W. C. D. Veale, MC DCM MIEAust, is City Engineer and Surveyor, City of Adelaide, South Australia.

[The Address was well illustrated by a cinematograph film and by the use of the epidascope. If desired the author will supply copies of the air raid precautions scheme for the City of Adelaide, to engineers deputed to formulate similar schemes. - The Editor.]
