- Description
Presented at the 166th general meeting of the Adelaide Division, Institution of Engineers, Australia, on 18th July 1941.
The paper was illustrated with graphs of water consumption as recorded by the Engineering & Water Supply Dept., which showed the important bearing the watering of gardens had on peak consumption during summer months in Adelaide.
Charts of the performance of 23 different typical types of water sprinklers were then shown, and these indicated the surprising variety of consumption and distribution generally obtainable. The paper ended with a plea for more scientific watering, particularly as regards timing the discontinuance of the use of sprinklers to avoid wastage.
