- Abstract
This paper outlines the method of approach used in the Metropolitan Water, Sewerage and Drainage Board, Sydney, to the design of sewage pumping stations, and is confined to the functional aspect of design. Structural dimensions and capacities, and their effect on pumping conditions are discussed, with special emphasis placed on wet well and rising main design. Determination of pumping capacity and the application of multiple-speed pumps to sewage pumping are also discussed.
